World Science Day Event at Kids City

The Kids City celebrated the World Science Day for Peace and Development, an event proclaimed by the UNESCO. This international day took place on the 10th of November and was sponsored by the Prudential in order to support and highlight the important role of science in society and the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues. It also underlines the importance and relevance of science in our daily lives. As a part of the World Science Day, Kids City organized the panel discussion on Science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Math) which took place from 8.30AM to 12:00PM Panel Members present were: Dr. Chan Roath : Mathematics ( Director of Department of Scientific Research) Dr. Cheak Sotha : Head Department of Food Chemistry, Royal Academy of Cambodia Dr. Kim Leang : Physic Lecturer at RUPP The purpose of this Panel Discussion was to promote the Science concept and to engage science teachers from both private and public schools into the Science Development of Cambodia. Participants were allowed to ask questions at the end of the discussion and to tour the science floors and learn more about schools’ science activity programs at the Kids City. The public was invited and had free entrance to both Science floors, Science Discovery and Science Gallery, from 12pm – 6pm.

Halloween Night at Kids City

The Kids City celebrated the international Halloween nights between the 28th until the 30th October.  The nights were open to all public with promotional prices. Our laser tag arena was converted into a haunted house during these days and decorated with the authentic Halloween and horror themes. The true excitements were the sound and the ghosts, who were made up as real horror creatures to bring that extra thrill and fun to our customers.

What is Children’s Day?

International Children’s Day is recognized on various days in many places around the world to honor children globally. It was first proclaimed by the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in 1925 and then established universally in 1954 to protect an “appropriate” day. The International Day for Protection of Children is observed in many countries as Children’s Day on June 1 since 1950. Children’s Day is observed differently in every part of the world, involving culture, families, and other activities to celebrate this unique date. Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring all mothers in the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the month of May. Did you Know? Mother’s Day is celebrated in more than 46 countries throughout the world. Consider having dinner at home with the family, give a surprise to your mother. Mother’s day card with a bouquet of flowers is also one of the most popular methods of celebrating mother’s day. As it is a holiday, some families prefer to go out for a picnic to celebrate this festival or engage in recreational activities. In schools, kids dedicate poem to their mother and also perform various roles on this day. Those who are good at cooking, serve the best dishes to their mom on Mother’s day.

Cambodia’s First Ever Christmas Ice Show 2015

Ice Park is pleased to announce that they will be staging their very first Christmas Ice Show at the Ice Park in AEON MALL. The show will be held over two days and there will be a choice of four performances two on each day. The dates of the shows are 24th December at 13.40pm and 18.40pm, and also on 25th December at 13.40pm and 18.40pm. This year’s show has been produced and choreographed by the Ice Parks Senior Head Coach Simon Newman and the Head Coach Ricardo Nonato. Simon Newman says that this is a first ever show in Cambodia not to be missed and the show has over 45 skaters the majority of them being local Cambodians who will perform specially choreographed routines. The show will last approximately one hour and is a review of different routines to different styles of music. we will also have a special guest appearance of Father Christmas who will also take to the ice in his very own sleigh and perform some very special numbers to help us all celebrate Christmas along with some of our skaters in this year’s show. The age of the skaters in the show range from 6 years upwards and also performing we have an International Ice Show Skater Simon Newman from the UK, Simon represented the United Arab Emirates in the 1987 World Professional Skating Championships as well as, Simon skating the local team of skating coaches will take to the ice to perform in several numbers. The show has a lot of variety and will offer you and your family the chance to witness the grace, beauty and skill that Ice Skating as to offer. Local skating stars are skaters that competed in the recent First Ice Skating Competition in Cambodia along with one of our local coaches Bunthoeurn Sen who represented Ice Park Cambodia in a competition recently held in Thailand. So come witness the coolest thing that is going to happen In Phnom Penh this December and enjoy the show.
